Chasing a moderate target of 142, DD lost Sehwag and Dilshan early but Gambhir buckled down and collected the runs at ease in the company of Karthik and Manhas to steer the Daredevils to a tense 5 wicket win in the final over.

A two-run 17th over by Yuvraj Singh gave Punjab an outside chance, with 26 required off the last three, but when Irfan Pathan dropped Mithun Manhas in the 19th over, it was all over for Punjab.

Kings XI Punjab did well to stifle the runs in the middle but were just not able to maintain the pressure consistently on the batsmen.
