The Tamil remake of the block buster movie '3 Idiots' named as 'Nanban' has completed stage one. Director Shankar recently wrote on his blog that the shooting of the Vijay and Ileana starrer movie is complete and will be released on the festive occasion of Pongal in the month of January 2012.

Despite certain reports of problems between Ileana and choreographer Farah Khan, everything has fallen in place. The shooting of the movie was finished in time.

The Tamil remake of the movie has the cast of Vijay, Jeeva, Srikanth and Sathyaraj. Vijay in the movie will be playing the role by Aamir Khan, Jeeva will be seen essaying the role of Sharman Joshi, while Srikanth will be seen in the role of R Madhavan. Sathyaraj will be seen playing the role of the nerdy professor played by Boman Irani, but it is still not clear if Ileana will be playing Kareena Kapoor, or a new role has been developed for the actress.
